Grafting tape is designed to wrap around graft unions or budding sites, holding the scion and rootstock together securely. It retains moisture, which is critical for cambium contact and successful grafting, while remaining breathable to allow air exchange, preventing rot and promoting healthy tissue growth. It can also be used over grafting rubber for extra reinforcement on thicker stems or branches.
